The preliminary analysis of the influence of region's elevation change on lightning characteristics
Analyzed the cloud-to-ground flash data(1999-2008) monitored by Chongqing lightning location system, through methods of mathematical statistics and linear regression to show the impact on lightning characteristics with regional altitude changed. The results showed that:① the largest distribution of lightning frequency was in the high range 300-400 m above sea level, and then began to gradually decrease with increasing elevation; ② the numbers of negative flash were far greater than the positive flash, but the share of positive and negative flash proportion were different when the altitudes changed, as the altitude increasd, especially at high altitudes, the proportion of positive lightning was increasing; ③ The average flash intensity was increased with the elevation change, especially in high altitude areas, the average intensity of positive polarity lightning with the increase of altitude; ④ lightning intensity over the value of 200 kA lightning large proportion of the time at different altitudes was different. Amplitude at high altitude over 200 kA lightning than the proportion of low-lying provinces.
