Gene expression analysis of overexpression OsAtg8a transgenic rice plants under carbon starvation and salt stress
In order to explore the role of OsAtg8a in the process of carbon starvation and salt stress in rice, overexpression OsAtg8a plants were obtained by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation.During the treatment of carbon starvation for 0, 8, 16, 24 and 48 h, expression levels of OsAtg1a, OsAtg4a, OsAtg8a, OsAtg13a, OsAtg16a and OsTOR in the transgenic plants were significantly higher than that in the control at 48 h.Under the treatment of 250 mmol/L NaCl salt stress for 4 h, OsAtg8a and OsAtg16a expression levels of transgenetic plants were much higher than that of control. The expression of OsAtg8a was 36 times higher than that of wild type. The result of autophagy-related genes expression increased significantly in the overexpression OsAtg8 a transgenic plants under the conditions of carbon starvation and high salt concentration indicated that OsAtg8a gene plays an important role in rice abiotic stress resistance.
