Research on the Cultural Safety in Sino-foreign Universities—Qualitative Analysis Based on the Interview with 20 Undergraduate Students
This study conducted in-depth interviews with 20 students from Sino-foreign universities.Through qualitative analysis of the interview data,we tried to find out the characteristics of the cultural environment of Sino-foreign universities as well as the current situation of cultural security.The study found that the cultural environment of Sino-foreign universities is characterized by three aspects:freedom and openness,cultural diversity,and promotion orientation.Among the cultural security status quo of Sino-foreign universities,the aspects that are beneficial to national cultural security include strong awareness of cultural protection,cultural inheritance and innovation,and awareness of ideological security;and the aspects that are detrimental to national cultural security include the lack of cultural security education,weak construction of ideological and political education,and loose organization and management.To strengthen the construction of cultural security,Sino-foreign universities should make the best use of the situation and make up for the shortcomings;raise the awareness and keep the bottom line;standardize the management and strengthen the discipline.
