Based on the challenges of tecnology updating,intensified market competition,and ecological environment deterioration in the field of civil engineering under the new time background,the inevitability and urgency of upgrading of civil engineering discipline are analyzed from different perspectives such as national development strategy,industry development renewal and professional transformation and iteration.Combined with the development process of civil engineering discipline,the long-term historical mission and the developing motivation of the discipline are revealed,and the inevitable trend and direction of its transformation and upgrading are further analyzed.At the same time,according to the needs and challenges of the new era,the training objectives of cultivating civil engineers with innovative ability,international vision and social responsibility are defined,and the corresponding talent training strategies are put forward to provide useful reference for the development of civil engineering discipline.
