The development of economic globalization and modern education reform have put forward new requirements for the training of English majors in universities.We attach great importance to the ideological and political construction of college English major courses,which can not only enable students to learn English knowledge and develop comprehensive abilities,but also strengthen their confidence in the path,theory,system,and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Ultimately,they can grow into excellent talents with both moral and talent,and shoulder an important historical mission to enhance China's core competitiveness and achieve the great rejuvenation of the nation.This paper provides a basic overview of the"Four Confidences"and course ideological and political education,and conducts an in-depth analysis of the existing problems in the ideological and political construction of college English majors under the guidance of the"Four Confidences".Starting from the top-level design of course ideological and political education,optimizing college English teaching content,expanding the path of course ideological and political education and emphasizing students'practical experience of ideological and political education,several effective measures are proposed.
