The Role of College Teachers in Ideological and Political Education
The roles and responsibilities of college English teachers have been changing ever since the promoting of ideological and political education.This paper focuses on exploring transforming teacher roles under these circumstances.Challenges that teachers are facing are analyzed,followed by discussions of changing teacher roles from knowledge lecturers and classroom activity organizers into curriculum ideological guides,quality educators,values guides,learning environment creators and curriculum designers.Corresponding strategies for teacher development are also proposed,including enhancing teacher professional knowledge and ideological literacy,practicing various teaching methods,selecting and designing course contents,promoting active and effective between teachers and students,as well as collaborating with teachers from other disciplines.
