Comparative study on mechanical properties of different subgrade materials under freeze-thaw cycles
In order to explore the strength characteristics of foamed light soil,a new type of roadbed material, the freeze-thaw strength damage test of foamed light soil roadbed under different wet densities was completed.By comparing the new foamed light soil with the traditional cement im-proved soil,it is found that the strength of the cement improved soil will decrease greatly in the early freeze-thaw stage, but the compressive strength will rise after about 5 freeze-thaw cycles. The compressive strength of foamed soil decreases slowly with the increase of freeze-thaw cycles from the beginning to the end.In terms of strength loss, the strength loss rate of the two subgrade materials is different, and the compressive strength decline rate of the cement-improved soil is fas-ter than that of the foamed light soil. The loss rate of foamed light soil fluctuates little with the number of cycles, and the phase is relatively stable. The freeze-thaw cycle has a large discrete effect on the loss rate of cement improved soil.
