Traditional villages are the non-renewable cultural heritage left to us by history,and their color is an important factor in the continuity of cultural context and characteristics.At present,most traditional village colors only stay in the static protection stage,and realize the transforma-tion from static to dynamic inheritance,which is an important focus of color research.This paper takes traditional villages in the Shanxi section of Sanggan River Basin as the research object,and uses the cultural gene grading system to interpret the color characteristics from three aspects:ex-ternal representation,production and life,and spiritual perception,explore the derivative relation-ship between colors,sort out the color lineage according to different cultural gene types,and pro-pose protection paths,in order to provide references for the dynamic inheritance of colors in tradi-tional villages.
