A Study on the Calculation of Building Carbon Emissions in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region Based on the CBECM Method
The high-carbon characteristics and substantial emission reduction potential of China's con-struction industry make it a critical sector for achieving carbon reduction goals, particularly in the energy-intensive and high-emission Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region.Focusing on the BTH re-gion,this study employs the China Building Energy Consumption Model(CBECM)to calculate the carbon emissions of buildings in the BTH region from 2012 to 2022.The results indicate that building-related carbon emissions in the BTH region have continued to rise, necessitating proactive emission reduction measures. While the carbon emissions from buildings in Beijing show a fluctua-ting trend with no significant increase, those in Hebei Province and Tianjin have steadily in-creased,reflecting the uneven development of carbon reduction efforts within the region. The over-all carbon intensity of buildings has significantly decreased, indicating a certain degree of decou-pling between economic growth and carbon emissions.Based on the actual situation of building-re-lated carbon emissions in the BTH region, this paper proposes tailored recommendations for ener-gy conservation and emission reduction in the construction industry from three perspectives:total emission control, interprovincial regional coordination, and the reduction of building carbon inten-sity.These recommendations aim to support the BTH region in achieving its"dual carbon"goals and provide a reference for the study of building-related carbon emissions in other economic zones.
