Practice and Enlightenment of Public Libraries'Participation in Large Local Document Projects——Taking Nanjing Library as an Example
Public libraries play an important role in large local document projects by virtue of their rich collection resources and professional ability in document collation.Based on the practice of Nan-jing Library's participation in large local document projects,this paper summarizes the forms of pub-lic libraries'participation in project compilation,analyzes the significance of public libraries'partici-pation in such projects,summarizes the problems existing in the process of project organization and implementation in public libraries.A number of recommendations were made on this basis:clarify the responsibilities of public libraries in social development;Solve the problem of academic marginal-ization of public libraries;Strengthen the social influence of local literature;And coordinate project work and library business development.
