This paper selects the top 25 public libraries in the United States as the research ob-ject,and conducts a network survey on the night-time service practice of American public li-braries.Through investigation,it analyzes the current situation and service charateristics of night-time service of American public libraries from three aspects:service groups,service space and reading activities.Based on the research results,this paper expounds the enlighten-ment to the high-quality development of night-time service of public libraries in China:de-velop innovative thinking and actively plan service projects;subdivide the audience and accu-rately hold the users'needs;attract social forces and strengthen cross-border integration;discover regional characteristic culture and create night-time economic and cultural IP.
