Effects of tending measures on the glaze-harmed stand and understory shrub growth
In order to explore the effect of glaze harm on the stand forest and understory shrub growth,a sample-plot survey was conducted. The results showed that the resistance of different tree species to glaze disaster is different in a sequence of Quercus mongolica,Tilia spp.,Larix principis-rupprechtii,Betula platyphylla and Pinus tabulaeformis from light to heavy.Through tending the stand forest of oak, tilia, larch, and birch harmed by glaze, there was a significant increase in average DBH (108%,117%,111%,113%) and tree volume (111 %,146 %,104 %,121%),respectively except for the pine stand which was the most heavely affected by glaze, resulting in a decrease of its average DBH and tree volume. It is concluded that tending against glaze harm to stand is supposed to promote the growth of the seedlings and understory shrub.
