Comparison on the growth of different tree species in drought sunny slope of the northern region of Yanshan mountains
In order to understand the growth differences of afforestation species in drought sunny slope of Yanshan mountains, this paper studied the growth and spatial distribution pattern of artificial planted forests of Pinus tabulaeformis,Pinus sylvestris var.mongolica and Quercus mongolica. The results showed that:5 years after planting, the survival rates of Pinus tabulaeformis,Pinus sylvestris var.mongolica and Quercus mongolica reached 93.79%,87.98% and 66.69% respectively;the ground diameters of Pinus tabulaeformis,Pinus sylvestris var.mongolica and Quercus mongolica were 4.68 cm,5.34 cm,and 1.52 cm,and the tree heights were 1.58 m,1.75 m,and 0.80 m.The individual biomass of Pinus tabulaeformis,Pinus sylvestris var.mongolica and Quercus mongolica were 1 857.36g,2 018.30 g,and 234.35 g respectively. The density of artificial planted sapling forest was between the 867.00 and 2 183.00 strains per hectare. The spatial distribution patterns of sapling forest in site with good condition were all the uniform type, and the patterns in site of poor condition were all aggregated type. The study results showed that Pinus tabulaeformis,Pinus sylvestris var.mongolica and Quercus mongolica were suitable planting species in drought sunny slope of northern region of Yanshan mountian. After 5 years of planting, these tree species have formed a stable tree layer. In drought sunny slope, the artificial afforestation accelerated the recovery of vegetation from spiraea shrub to arborescent forest.
