Analysis of the expression of G-CSF,PLGF,and PTX3 in the serum of children with pneumonia and their relationship with lung ventilation function
Objective To investigate the expression of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF),placental growth factor(PLGF),and serum pentraxin 3(PTX3)in the serum of children with pneumonia and their relationship with lung ventilation function.Methods This study included 110 ped-iatric patients with pneumonia treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University from Janu-ary 2021 to March 2023 as the observation group.They were further divided into a mild group(46 ca-ses)and a severe group(64 cases)according to the"Guidelines for the Management of Community-Acquired Pneumonia in Children(2013 Revision)".Another 110 healthy volunteers who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group.The forced vital capac-ity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),forced expiratory volume in one second percentage(FEV1%),G-CSF,PLGF,and PTX3 were compared between the two groups.The differ-ences in FVC,FEV1,FEV1%,G-CSF,PLGF,and PTX3 between the mild and severe groups were further compared.Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between FEV1,FEV1%,FVC,and G-CSF,PLGF,PTX3.Results The FEV1,FEV1%,and FVC of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.001);the FEV1,FEV1%,and FVC of the severe group were significantly lower than those of the mild group(P<0.001);the PTX3 and G-CSF levels in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group,while the PLGF level was lower(P<0.001);the PTX3 and G-CSF levels in the severe group were significantly higher than those in the mild group,while the PLGF level was lower(P<0.001);Spearman correlation analysis showed that FEV1,FEV1%,and FVC were negatively correlated with PTX3 and G-CSF,and positively correlated with PLGF.Conclusion The expression of G-CSF,PL-GF,and PTX3 in the serum of children with pneumonia shows a significant correlation with lung ven-tilation function,which can serve as an important reference for assessing the severity of the condition and analyzing treatment effectiveness.
