Understanding of etiology and pathogenesis of lupus nephritis and the thinking of syndrome differentiation and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine
This article aims to provide ideas and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of lu-pus nephritis(LN)by exploring the etiology,pathogenesis,and medication rules of traditional Chi-nese medicine(TCM)in the treatment of LN.Firstly,the etiology and pathogenesis of LN are dis-cussed from the perspectives of innate endowment,external six evils,sun poisoning,drug poisoning,and emotional imbalance.Combined with clinical case studies on the diagnosis and treatment of LN,the thinking and medication characteristics of syndrome differentiation and treatment are analyzed.The author believes that the etiology of LN is complex,with deficiency in essence and excess in superficiali-ty as its basic pathogenesis.The excess in superficiality is mainly manifested as heat-toxicity,damp-turbidity,and blood stasis,while the deficiency in essence is mainly manifested as yin deficiency of liv-er and kidney,deficiency of qi and yin,and deficiency of spleen and kidney.The use of TCM in the treatment of LN can not only significantly improve the condition,but also reduce the adverse reactions of Western medicine,with remarkable clinical effects.
