Awakening effect of music therapy based on natural sounds on patients with brain trauma and coma
Objective To explore the application effect of music therapy based on natural sounds in patients with brain trauma and coma. Methods A total of 70 patients with brain trauma and coma treated in the neurosurgical intensive care unit of Tangshan Worker's Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were selected as the research subjects and randomly divided into a control group and an observa-tion group, with 35 patients in each group. The control group received conventional treatment and care for brain trauma, while the observation group received music therapy based on natural sounds in addi-tion to the treatment of the control group. The Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS)and Coma Recovery Scale-Revised(CRS-R)were used to assess the patients'consciousness and awakening status before and after the intervention. Results Before the intervention, there was no significant difference in GCS and CRS-R scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the GCS score,CRS-R score, average coma duration, and awakening rate in the observation group were better than those in the con-trol group(P<0.05).Conclusion Music therapy based on natural sounds can promote the recovery of consciousness and shorten the coma duration in patients with brain trauma and coma.
