Analysis of the current status of disease uncertainty and its influencing factors among patients with uroli-thiasis
Objective To analyze the current status of disease uncertainty and its related influen-cing factors among patients with urolithiasis. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select 160 patients with urolithiasis admitted to Zhengzhou Ninth People's Hospital from May 2020 to May 2023 as the study subjects. The general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the Mi-shel Uncertainty in Illness Scale-Adult(MUIS-A),the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, and the Self-Rating Depression Scale were used to investigate the patients'disease uncertainty, negative emotions(anxie-ty,depression),and analyze the relevant influencing factors. Results The total MUIS-A score of the 160 patients with urolithiasis in this study was(78.07±9.17)points,which was at a moderate level. There were significant differences in disease uncertainty scores among patients with different social characteristics, including living alone status, education level, marital status, anxiety, depression, family monthly income, duration of illness, number of recurrences, and medical payment methods(all P<0.05).Disease uncertainty among patients with urolithiasis was positively correlated with negative emotions(r=0.836,P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that living alone, unmarried status,self-paying medical expenses, family monthly income<6000,comorbid anxiety and depression,recur-rence ≥2 times, and duration of illness ≥5 years were independent risk factors affecting patients'dis-ease uncertainty(all P<0.05).Conclusion The disease uncertainty of patients with urolithiasis is pos-itively correlated with their negative emotions, and there are many risk factors.Medical staff need to develop targeted measures to provide psychological intervention to reduce patients'disease uncertainty and negative emotions.
