Research progress on serum inflammatory markers and the renin-angiotensin counter-regulatory axis in cardiovascular diseases
Cardiovascular diseases have become the primary health concern in our country,im-posing a significant burden on both society and the economy. The inflammatory response plays a criti-cal role in the progression of cardiovascular diseases, with inflammatory markers not only reflecting the stability of atherosclerotic plaques but also serving as important predictive indicators of coronary heart disease risk factors. The renin-angiotensin counter-regulatory axis can counterbalance the effects of the classical axis, thereby exerting a protective effect on the cardiovascular system. This paper,by reviewing relevant literature, provides an overview of common inflammatory biomarkers in cardiovas-cular diseases, such as the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR),mean platelet volume ratio(WMR),osteopontin(OPN),and the renin-angiotensin system(RAS)with a focus on their mecha-nisms of action and therapeutic potential.
