Role of osteopontin in target organ damage in hypertension
Hypertension,a common chronic disease,poses a significant global health issue and is associated with damage to organs such as the heart,brain,kidneys,and blood vessels.In recent years,osteopontin(OPN),a multifunctional protein,has been found to be closely related to target organ damage in hypertension.This article summarizes the latest research progress on the role of OPN in target organ damage in hypertension and explores its mechanism of action in vascular remodeling,myocardial fibrosis,and kidney damage,aiming to provide new perspectives and strategies for the pre-vention and treatment of hypertension and its complications.
