Comparison of the Photosynthetic Characteristics of Canna edulis with Three Lines
The photosynthetic characteristics of Carina edulis in the fields were studied in comparison with three lines.The results showed that net photosynthetic rate (Pn) of Canna edulis with green leaves and yellow flowers (GY) was higher than the others and showed double peak curve,while the others had single peak.Midday depression of Pn was found in leaves of three canna lines.The variety trend of transpiration rate and stomatal conductance in a day was same as the Pn's.but the peak occurred at 13:30 accordance with the temperature's in the day.Compared with Pn it was delayed for three hours.The difference of physiological characteristics was the leaves' color,so the difference of photosynthesis was probably attributed to the contents of chlorophll.
