Influence of integration of subsoiling and sowing on root growth of maize and water utilization of farmland
In order to study the influence of integration of subsoiling and sowing and no-till seeding on root growth of maize and water utilization of farmland, the experiment was carried out at the Shenzhou experimental station of dry-land farming institute of Hebei Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences by 2BMSQFY-4 with ‘Zhengdan 958’ of maize from 2012 to 2013.The results showed that the dry matter accumulation, the root-length density, the root surface area and length of maize of subsoiling increased significantly than that of no subsoiling. And subsoiling could increase the soil water content. The soil water content of subsoiled increased by 10.5 % during the whole growth period in 40-100 cm.The water use efficiency and the yield of maize were also greater than that of no subsoiling, and the water use efficiency increased by 9.5 %,and the yield of maize increased by 5.1%.
