In order to establish an efficient regeneration system for eggplant(Solanum melongena L.),11 genotypes of eggplant were used and the effects of genotypes,explant types as well as the types and concentration ratio of phytohormones on regeneration rate were studied.The results showed that among 11 different genotypes of eggplant,07-1043 had the highest regeneration ability,followed by 16-562 and 14-345,with average regeneration rates of 72.22% ,48.33% and 38.42% ,respectively.In addition,morphology and histology analyses of cotyledons of the three genotypes were also performed,suggesting no obvious correlation between the size of cotyledon and the ability of regeneration.ZRI(2 mg/L ZR+0.5 mg/L IAA)showed the best induction rate for seedlings regenation of the 11 genotypes.0.1mg/L IAA showed the best effects on the induction of adventitious roots.This study optimized the regeneration systems of 07-1043,16-562 and 14-345,which is helpful for the basic theoretical research of eggplant and the innovation of eggplant germplasm using molecular breeding technology.
