Marx's Inheritance about Hegel's Concept of"Entfremdung"——Based on the Examination of the Third Manuscript of Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844
The concept of"Entfremdung"is the core concept of Marx's Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844.It contains two meanings:one is the"alienated labor"as in the First Manuscript,which is related to the humanistic religious criticism of young Hegelians,especially Feuerbach,and is narrow and negative.The second is the"dialectics of alienation"as in the Third Manuscript,which is related to Hegel's"philosophy of spirit"("objective spirit"),which is broad and positive.Through the first one,Marx exposed the distortion of labor in capitalist society;Through the latter,Marx demonstrated scientific communism.This article intends to focus on the Third Manuscript of Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844.Firstly,it explains the basic meaning of Hegel's concept of"Entfremdung".Secondly,it analyzes the different meanings of the concept of"Entfremdung"in the First Manuscript and the Third Manuscript.Finally,it examines how Marx's"communism"inherits the positive meaning of Hegel's concept of"Entfremdung",and the importance of Hegel's concept of"Entfremdung"for the establishment of Historical Materialism.
