Comparative analysis of teaching materials for the module"Magnetism and Electricity"at all levels of basic education
Textbooks have always existed as an important teaching resource. This paper adopted the Interpretive Structural Modeling method(ISM)to study the Magnetism and Electricity module in primary school to high school textbooks. It listed the adjacency matrix according to the knowledge elements and converted it into a hierarchical directed graph,so as to conduct comparative study on the differences and similarities in the selection of core elements, the differences and similarities between the starting and ending elements and the formation paths among the elements. The results showed that the textbook pays great attention to the logical order among knowledge and are carefully arranged according to the physical and mental development characteristics of adolescents;some key core elements of primary and junior school teaching are more overlapping and highlight basic knowledge while some key core elements in junior and senior high school textbooks are more overlapping and emphasizing the principles;junior high school,as a transitional stage, has the largest number of knowledge elements and a wider scope of coverage. However, while senior high school has increased the depth of knowledge with more abstracted conceptualized knowledge and pay more attention to developing students'scientific thinking.
