In this paper the land use change and ecological risk in Lanzhou City are studied, with the resources and environment science and data center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(https://www.resdc.cn).Based on land use data,an ecological risk index is constructed using transfer matrix, spatial autocorrelation(global spatial autocorrelation and local spatial autocorrelation),and landscape pattern index.Kriging interpolation analysis is used for visualization to analyze the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of land use ecological risk in Lanzhou City. The results show that farmland and grassland in Lanzhou City have decreased, while construction land has significantly increased. The construction land is mainly converted from grassland. The Moran's I index indicates that there is a positive correlation between land use and ecological risk in Lanzhou City, with a clustering pattern distribution, mainly consisting of"high-high"and"low-low"clustering patterns. The areas with high ecological risks are concentrated in major urban areas such as Chengguan District,Anning District, and Qilihe.
