Numerical Simulation Analysis of the Flow Field in the Third Subsidiary Dam on Manao River
To verify the design rationality of the Third Subsidiary Dam on Manao River,Fluent software is adopted to simulate the flow fields of the dam.Important hydraulic parameters,including the discharge capacity,water surface pro-file,pressure on the bottom plate,water flow cavitation coefficient,and flow velocity distribution on typical cross sec-tions,are analyzed.The numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the formula calculation results,showing that the model establishment,mesh division,boundary condition definition,and parameter selection in the numerical simulation are appropriate,and the Fluent software can be used for the study of hydraulic parameters of overflow dams.The results can be useful reference for the optimization design of dams.
