Experimental Study of the Discharge Coefficient of Radial Gate with Its Water Stop Point Located Downstream of the Weir Crest
When the water stop point of a radial gate is located downstream of the curved practical weir crest, there is no theoretical or empirical formula to calculate the discharge coefficient of the gate. Therefore, theoretical analysis and physical experiment are carried out by establishing a physical model of the weir and the gate to measure the relationship between the water level and the discharge flow under different gate opening conditions. The relationship between the dis-charge coefficient and the relative opening of the gate is analyzed. The results can be used to evaluate the discharge ca-pacity of the gate and also provide useful basis for the development of reservoir gate dispatching plans.
