On Different Closing Laws of Guide Vanes in Transition Process of Pumped Storage Units
Due to factors such as hydraulic vibration, the previously commonly adopted delayed closing and the ball valve combined closing schemes of guide vanes are no longer suitable for pumped storage power stations. In the load re-jection and pump power outage processes of the reversible turbine units in several power stations, different guide vane closing schemes such as"fast then slow closing","slow then fast closing"and"straight line closing"schemes are a-dopted.Statistical analysis and comparative studies show that the requirements of large fluctuation in the transition process can be satisfied in most stations if the two-stage"fast then slow closing"scheme is adopted for the load rejection condition and the"straight line closing"scheme is adopted for the pump power outage condition, which should be given priority consideration. Also,it is suggested that if emergency pressure distribution valve is used for guide vane closing,it is also necessary to adopt sectional closing scheme and install the corresponding closing combination devices.
