Safety Inspection and Evaluation of the Reserve Radial Gates and Hoists in the Three Gorges South Line Shiplock
The Three Gorges South Line Shiplock has been in operation for many years.Considering the adverse factors such as the harsh environment, high water head, high flow velocity, cavitation and sediment erosion in the water convey-ance galleries, safety inspection is carried out to determine the safety status of the reverse radial gates and the hydraulic hoists.According to SL101-2014"Technical code for safety inspection of hydraulic steel gate and hoist machinery",pa-trol inspection, gate appearance inspection, hoist performance status inspection, corrosion inspection,non-destructive tests, and re-check of the structural strength of the gate and the hoist capacity are carried out.Based on the on-site in-spection and the structural strength checking, the reverse radial gates and the hoists in the South Line Shiplock are as-sessed as"safe".While, partial defect elimination needs to be carried out on the reverse radial gates to ensure the con-tinuous safe and stable operation of the shiplock.
