Stability Analysis of Embankment Dams based on Relative Safety Rate of Generalized Reliability Index
Based on the reliability and failure probability theories,a dam slope stability analysis framework of embank-ment dams is established using the nonlinear shear strength theory and the safety design criteria,in which the relative safety rate and the failure probability of the generalized reliability index of the dam body are calculated.Practical exam-ples show that the stability of the Luotian Reservoir dam basically meets the reliability requirements under various work-ing conditions,with a failure probability of about 0.13%.While,special attention should be paid to the safety perform-ance under specific working conditions.The analysis method can be useful reference for the design and calculation of re-liability indexes such as the relative safety rate of small and medium size embankment dams at the hundred-meter level.
