Key Technologies for Rapid Construction of 220-meter High Soil Slopes
The soil slopes at the abutments of the main dam in Maiwan Water Conservancy Project in Hainan Province are of 220 meter high and with complex support structures. To address the challenges in rapid construction of the high soil slopes,a synchronous construction method with multiple small steps and support surfaces is proposed. The construc-tion processes of the anchor cables and the anchor piers are optimized with experiments, and a set of construction tech-niques of anchor cables and anchor piers suitable for high soil slopes in tropical monsoon climate is obtained. The tech-niques improve the quality and progress of the slope excavation and support construction. The completion time of the slope excavation and support construction is nearly 2 months earlier than the overall schedule. The research provides use-ful reference for the rapid construction of high soil slopes in the future.
