Water Environmental Impact of Panzhihua Renhe Pumped Storage Power Station in Construction Period
During the construction of pumped storage power stations, large amount and different kinds of wastewater will be produced. The accidental discharge of the wastewater will have serious impacts on the water environment.A two-di-mensional mixed model is established to simulate the impact of accidental wastewater discharge on the water quality of Jinsha River during the construction of Panzhihua Renhe Pumped Storage Power Station. The results show that the length of the pollution zone caused by accidental wastewater discharge from the sand and gravel processing system can reach 3.5 km,and the suspended solid(SS)concentration after sufficient mixing is twice of the background value, indicating a high degree of impact. The results provides useful basis for the formulation of risk prevention measures for the wastewater discharge accidents during construction period.
