Social Media Empowering Fitness Exercise:Research on Social Adaptation of the Migrant Elderly Following Children
Objective In the context of the national strategy to actively respond to the aging population,this study explored the ways in which fitness exercises promote social adaptation among the elderly,and the specific role of social media in this process.Methods Based on the theory of social embeddedness,this study conducted a questionnaire survey on the migrant elderly following children,and explored the path of social media embedding in fitness exercise to promote their social adaptation through structural equation mod-eling.Results Research data found that in the process of adapting to society for the migrant elderly following children,fitness activities have a significant positive impact on their social participation,social support,and social network through social media usage,with social media usage playing a significant mediating role.Conclusion In order to help the migrant elderly following children adapt to so-ciety,this study proposed the construction of community from four dimensions of sports interest group,intergenerational emotional ties,community practice empowerment and digital identity recognition.
