A Review of Social-ecological Approach to Physical Activity Promotion
In the field of physical activity promotion, the social-ecological theoretical model of active living is one of the most widely used theories today.Under the social-ecological perspective,in addition to individual factors, built environment, social environment, and natural environment factors also have a profound impact on physical activity behavior, but it is inconclusive how these social-eco-logical factors interact with each other, which in turn affects physical activity behavior. In view of this, this paper reviews research ad-vances in the field of physical activity promotion from a social-ecological perspective. The results show that the built and social envi-ronments can not only act directly on physical activity, but also indirectly through individual factors. For different types of physical ac-tivity behaviors, the built environment factors associated with them may vary. The study aims to contribute to the development and con-struction of social ecology theories, and to provide a research basis and guidance for the construction of policies that promote physical activity through built environment factors.
