Differentiated Energy Management and Energy Efficiency Optimization in Communication Base Stations
The high power characteristics of 5G base stations and the varying power consumption of network equipment pose new challenges to energy management in base stations.Based on the description of the power supply system architecture of communication base stations,this paper focuses on analyzing differentiated energy consumption,differentiation,limited charging,ener-gy storage and backup power,and energy-saving technologies for 5G base stations.Differentiated energy consumption methods include battery peak-shaving charging and high discharge-low ab-sorption of batteries.Differentiated backup power considers factors such as the importance of base stations,load characteristics,and utilization of new energy sources to formulate backup power strategies.In terms of energy saving,hardware optimization,software optimization,and intelligent control are employed to improve energy efficiency.Each differentiated energy man-agement solution has advantages such as cost savings,efficiency improvement,and reliable power supply,but also has certain limitations.It is necessary to select and optimize the solutions accord-ing to specific circumstances.
