In order to optimize the heating system of HBIS Group Shisteel Company GCr15 bearing steel and improve the quality of bearing steel wire rod,the carbon segregation in the core of casting billet of GCr15 bearing steel was detected by electronic probe microanalysis(EPMA)and acid corrosion method(low power detection).The temperature field during the heating process of GCr15 bearing steel billet was analyzed by Transient Thermal unit in ANSYS software.The diffusion distance of carbon element in the heating process was calculated by the DICTRA module in Thermo-Calc thermodynamic calculation software.The results show that the radius of the carbon segregation zone in the core of the casting billet is about 22.7 mm,and the maximum carbon content in the segregation zone is 1.26 wt%.Under the condition of carbon segregation,only when the heating temperature in the segregation zone reaches 1 200 ℃ and the effective heating time is greater than 480 min,the carbon segregation in the core of the casting billet can be uniformly diffused.Under the current heating system of Shisteel,the effective heating time in the core is only 190 min,which cannot meet the requirement of uniform diffusion of carbon segregation in the casting billet during heating and holding.At the same time,the calculation results of ANSYS software show that the effective heating time of the carbon segregation zone in the core of the casting blank can reach more than 480 min when the holding time of soaking period is greater than 660 min.The research results have important guiding significance for the production of high quality bearing steel.
