THE APPLICATION OF LARGE-SCALE PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION OXYGEN PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT IN THE STEEL INDUSTRY
With the gradual promotion of the national"dual carbon"goal,major steel enterprises have conducted multiple explorations in carbon reduction and energy conservation.The blast furnace ironmaking process,which accounts for the largest proportion of energy consumption,has become a key focus of attention in the steel industry.Related studies have shown that increasing the oxygen enrichment rate can not only reduce fuel consumption and save costs in blast furnace ironmaking,but also enhance smelting intensity and increase efficiency.The unit price of oxygen is an important factor restricting the implementation of oxygen enrichment in blast furnaces.The pressure swing adsorption oxygen production device operates at normal temperature and pressure,with a higher safety factor;The process flow is only equivalent to two sections of cryogenic air compressor and molecular sieve;Using conventional electromechanical equipment with a small quantity,easy and fast maintenance.This device can avoid the drawbacks of quality,energy waste,and unstable oxygen supply caused by using high-pressure and high-purity oxygen from air separation for blast furnaces,and is more conducive to energy conservation and consumption reduction of the entire system of steel enterprises,meeting the requirements of the"dual carbon"goal.This article introduces the development process of the pressure swing adsorption oxygen production device,which has transformed from an axial bed to a radial bed,developed from a two tower process to a new four tower process,and gradually improved the maximum production capacity and automation level to meet the demand for high oxygen consumption in blast furnaces.At the same time,it is pointed out that large-scale pressure swing adsorption oxygen production equipment will become a more widespread source of oxygen enrichment for blast furnaces due to its advantages such as larger production capacity,easier operation and maintenance,better energy conservation,and environmental friendliness.
