DEVELOPMENT OF PELLET BINDING AGENT FOR CONVERTER STEELMAKING
To promote the green and sustainable utilization of secondary resources such as dust ash,it is essential to produce cold solidified pellets for converter steelmaking by incorporating appropriate slag-making materials into the secondary resources.By utilizing the traditional process for producing pellet, the cold solidified pellet exhibits a strength of approximately 100 N and a powder surface rate exceeding 20%.However,it is characterized by low strength and high powder surface rate, resulting in low utilization efficiency during use.Through a systematic analysis of the binding agent mechanism,it is concluded that adding an appropriate amount of dispersant can enhance the application effect when a large amount of organic matter is present in the compound. It was determined that maintaining a fixed mixture and binding agent ratio at 50%industrial starch,25%sodium salt, and 25%silicon powder resulted in the best pellet forming effect for the composite binding agent. The industrial test proves that when the binding agent adding ratio is 1.5a%,the stirring time is 210 s/cylinder,the pressure of the ball press is 4~8 MPa,and the linear speed of the roll is 0.35~0.45 m/s,the prepared composite binding agent is used for steelmaking pellets, and the initial strength of the cold-set pellets is increased to more than 200 N,and the final strength is more than 800 N.The powder ratio can be reduced to less than 5%,which can meet the user's requirements and improve the use efficiency.
