LF refining is a crucial process in molten steel treatment.At Tangshan Medium and Heavy Plate Company,the manual completion of the refining part by operators introduces a high risk of human error due to reliance on experiential control,leading to increased workload and compromised quality stability.To address this issue and meet production demands,an automatic smelting system was developed through comprehensive study of the LF refining process.The system encompasses metallurgical process flow,auxiliary material calculation model,alloy feeding model,and metallurgical temperature model based on business logic and technical principles.Leveraging metallurgical thermodynamics,dynamics,mathematical modeling technology,and artificial intelligence big data technology as theoretical foundations and implementation methods for each module ensures seamless coordination to meet tight production schedules.Fully automated intelligent LF refining not only reduces costs but also enhances molten steel quality.Following its launch,the system has advanced automation while standardizing the operation processes of molten steel smelting in LF furnaces.Continuous optimization of the LF refining process has steadily improved molten steel stability with effective enhancement in composition and temperature hit ratio at the terminal stage.
