THE INFLUENCE OF INCREASING THE PROPORTION OF HIGH ALUMINA IRON ORE ON THE METALLURGICAL PROPERTIES OF SINTERED ORE
The dependence of China's steel industry on imported iron ore is over 80%.With the continuous increase of crude steel production, the demand for imported iron ore is also increasing.A large amount of non mainstream high alumina iron ore is being used, and the Al2O3 content of sintered ore is gradually increasing. In order to ensure the quality of sintered ore and blast furnace smelting indicators, research has been conducted on the impact of increasing the proportion of high alumina iron ore on the metallurgical properties of sintered ore.The research results show that as the proportion of high alumina iron ore increases, the Al2O3 content of sintered ore increases within the range of 2.25%to 2.53%,and the yield and drum index remain at around 82.5%and 68%,respectively.The reduction degree and low-temperature reduction pulverization rate RDI+3 15mm are between 89.1%to 93.4%and 73.4%to 76.9%,respectively,and there is no obvious deterioration trend; At the same time, the soft melt droplet performance of the sintered ore load gradually decreases in the droplet range, and the droplet amount increases within the range of 2.25%to 2.39%Al2O3 content, and sharply decreases at 2.53%,with more obvious changes in the droplet amount.Under existing conditions, increasing the proportion of high alumina iron ore in sintering and controlling the Al2O3 content of sintered ore below 2.4%can meet the production needs of blast furnaces in terms of sintered ore quality and metallurgical properties.
