PLCSMELT PROCESS SMELTING TECHNOLOGY FOR VANADIUM TITANIUM MAGNETITE
Vanadium titanium magnetite has a complex composition and structure, and is widely recognized as a difficult to select and metallurgical mineral in the world.Compared with ordinary iron concentrates, vanadium titanium magnetite has a lower grade and valuable components are dispersed in various mineral phases, making mining and beneficiation more difficult. The effective utilization of vanadium titanium ore resources is one of the concerns in the steel industry.Based on this, according to the characteristics of Panxi vanadium titanium magnetite,a new PLCsmelt ironmaking process was proposed.Firstly, the PLCsmelt ironmaking process was introduced, taking the gas based vertical furnace electric furnace process as a reference. The two processes were analyzed and compared in terms of process flow, cost, resource utilization, carbon emissions, and energy consumption, and compared with the blast furnace process in terms of carbon emissions and energy consumption.Research has shown that the process cost, vanadium resource recovery rate, carbon emissions, and energy consumption of PLCsmelt are 1 943.1 yuan/t,75.9%,1 009.6 kgCO2/tHM,and 370.9 kgce/tHM,respectively.These parameters have significant advantages over blast furnace and gas based vertical furnace electric furnace processes, proving that the new ironmaking process of PLCsmelt is more conducive to the comprehensive and efficient utilization of vanadium titanium magnetite resources. At the same time, the development prospects of PLCsmelt process technology were discussed,as well as the existing problems and future research directions of this technology.
