Clinical Analysis of Transurethral Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate in Treating Patients with Recurrent Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of transurethral holmium laser enucleation of the prostate(HoLEP)in treating patients with recurrent benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods:Sixty pa-tients who developed moderate to severe lower urinary tract obstruction symptoms after undergoing transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)and were treated in the Urology Department of Chengde Central Hospital from September 2020 to September 2023 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were randomly di-vided into two groups according to a random number table:control group and observation group, with 30 pa-tients in each group. The control group underwent TURP,while the observation group underwent HoLEP.The clinical effectiveness of the two groups was compared. Results:Before treatment, there were no significant differences in prostate function and recovery scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, both groups showed significant improvement(P<0.05),with the observation group showing significantly better re-sults than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of postopera-tive complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,clinical indicators such as operation time, hospital stay, blood loss, and bladder irrigation time in the observa-tion group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the surgical treatment of re-current BPH,transurethral HoLEP not only enhances the effectiveness and safety of the procedure but also re-duces the incidence of postoperative complications, making it worthy of clinical promotion.
