Concept analysis of health literacy of chronic diseases
Objective To analysis the evolution of the concept of health literacy of chronic disease and clarify its connotation.Methods We comprehensively searched for studies related to health literacy of chronic diseases from databases,including CNKI,Wanfang Data,CBM,VIP,PubMed,Web of Science,ProQuest,Springer Link and Elsevier Science Direct.Relevant papers from the inception of databases up to July 2023 were selected.Rodgers evolutionary method of concept analysis was applied.Results A total of 47 articles were included.Ulti-mately,the concept attributes of health literacy of chronic disease were knowledge of chronic diseases,treatment adherence,actively accessing and understanding health information,ability to interact in face-to-face and online,health decision-making.Antecedents include demographic factors,disease factors,family and social support,psychological factors,and organizational factors.Consequences include self-management behaviors,self-effica-cy,disease control,health empowerment,and health-related quality of life.Conclusion The conceptual conno-tation of health literacy in the context of chronic diseases was clarified through concept analysis.In the future,this concept will need to be explored and evolved as relevant studies continue to emerge.
