Cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD)is a wide range of cerebrovascular diseases with a variety of causes, which is the most common cause of vascular dementia. With increasing age,the prevalence of CSVD al-so increases, affecting the quality of life of the elderly population. With the continuous exploration and applica-tion of traditional magnetic resonance imaging technology, functional magnetic resonance technology has been rap-idly developed, and it is expected to provide more possibilities for the early diagnosis of CSVD and the relationship between CSVD and vascular cognitive impairment. This article reviews the application and research advances of multimodal functional magnetic resonance imaging in observing the relationship between CSVD and vascular cogni-tive impairment in order to provide evidence for the clinical diagnosis of CSVD from the perspective of imaging.
