Clinical efficacy of oblique insertion of intensive warm acupuncture combined with lumbar oblique pulling manipulation for lumbar disc herniation
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of oblique insertion of intensive warm acupuncture combined with lumbar oblique pulling manipulation for lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods From August 2022 to July 2023,sixty LDH patients were assigned to the control group(n =30)and the treatment group(n =30),in which they were treated with conven-tional acupuncture and oblique insertion of intensive warm acupuncture combined with lumbar oblique pulling manipulation,re-spectively.The aim was to compare oswestry disability index(ODI),C-reactive protein(CRP),hemorheology indexes(whole blood viscosity[WBV][low shear],WBV[high shear],plasma viscosity),Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74(GQOLI-74)(physical function,mental function,social function).Results The overall effective rate in the treatment group was better than that in the control group(93.33%[28/30]vs73.33[22/30],[P＜0.05],respectively).After treatment,ODI scores in the both groups were significantly decreased(P＜0.05),which were significantly lower in the treatment group than in the con-trol group(P＜0.05).CRP in the both groups was significantly decreased(P＜0.05),which decreased notably in the treat-ment group compared with the control group(P＜0.05).WBV(low shear,high shear),plasma viscosity in the both groups was significantly decreased(P＜0.05),the reduction in the treatment group was more prevalent compared with the control group(P＜0.05).GQOLI-74(physical function,mental function,social function)scores in the both groups were significantly in-creased(P＜0.05),the increase in the treatment group was more common than the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion For LDH patients,oblique insertion of intensive warm acupuncture combined with lumbar oblique pulling manipulation has defi-nite clinical efficacy,which can effectively improve lumbar spine function,eliminate inflammatory reactions,hemorheology inde-xes,and quality of life.
