Intervention effect of acupoint massage in bowel preparation before colonoscopy
Objective To analyze the intervention effect of acupoint massage in bowel preparation before colonoscopy. Methods From July 2021 to July 2022,totally 300 patients waiting for colonoscopy were randomly assigned into the research group(n =150)and the control group(n =150).All patients were managed by routine bowel preparation intervention, and those in research group additionally received acupoint massage intervention. The aim was to compare intestinal cleanliness during colonoscopy, visual analogue scale(VAS)of comfort immediately after intervention, during bowel preparation and colonoscopy, psychological state(Self-rating Anxiety Scale[SAS]and Self-rating Depression Scale[SDS])before and after intervention, stress indexes(diastolic blood pressure[DBP],systolic blood pressure[SBP],heart rate[HR])after colonoscopy. Results The excellent rate of intestinal cleanliness during colonoscopy in the research group was better than that in the control group(95.33%[143/150]vs 77.33%[116/150],[P<0.05],respectively).VAS of comfort immediately after intervention,dur-ing bowel preparation and colonoscopy was significantly lower in the research group than in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,SAS and SDS scores were significantly decreased(P<0.05),which decreased notably in the research group com-pared with the control group(P<0.05).The levels of SBP,DBP and HR after colonoscopy in the research group were research low-er than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acu-point massage has a significant intervention effect on bowel prepa-ration before colonoscopy. It can significantly improve the quality of bowel preparation, improve comfort, relieve anxiety and depression, and reduce the body's stress response.
