Clinical efficacy of Li's tuina therapy on small joint derangement of cervical spondylosis:Based on the concept of"sinus-meridian-bone"
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Li's tuina therapy based on the concept of"sinus-meridian-bone"on small joint derangement of cervical spondylosis(CS).Methods A total of CS 70 patients with small joint derangement were randomly assigned into the control group(n =35)and the treatment group(n =35),in which they were treated with con-ventional massage and Li's tuina therapy, respectively. The treatment was perfomed for 3 weeks(qod),aiming to compare the short form of the McGill Pain Questionnaire(SF-MPQ)score,the Neck Disability Index(NDI)score, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score between groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the scores of Visual Analog Scale(VAS),the Pain Rating Index(PRI)and the Present Pain Index(PPI)of the SF-MPQ in the both groups after treat-ment were significantly lower(P<0.05),which were more pronounced in the treatment group than the control group(P<0.05).The NDI scores in the two groups were significantly decreased than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the decrease was significant in the treatment group than the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the improvement degree of cervical curvature between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).The PSQI scores of the both groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and which in the treatment group were significantly lower(P<0.05).Conclusion For CS patients,"Li's tuina therapy"based on the concept of"tendon-meridian-bone"is superior to conventional tuina therapy in alleviating pain of small joint derangement, which can improve cervical dysfunction and sleep quality, but has no advantage in improving cervical curva-ture in a short time.
