FuzhengButu acupuncture therapy combined with task-oriented mirror therapy on upper limb function restoration of elderly post-stroke hemiplegia patients
Objective To observe the effect of FuzhengButu acupuncture therapy combined with task-oriented mirror therapy on upper limb function recovery in elderly post-stroke hemiplegia patients.Method A total of 72 elderly post-stroke hemiplegia patients were randomly divided into The control group(n =36)and the observation group(n =36).All patients re-ceived task-oriented mirror therapy,and the patients in the observation group additionally received FuzhengButu acupuncture therapy.After 12 weeks of rehabilitation,the aiming was to compare Fugl-Meyer assessment for the upper extremity(FMA-UE)score,balance function,activities of daily living(ADL)and muscle tension,satisfaction and compliance between groups before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the patients in both groups presented significantly higher FMA-UE scores(P<0.05),and activities of daily living and muscle tension(P<0.05),significantly increased satisfaction and compliance(P<0.05)than those before treatment,and the improvement of the treatment group was more obvious compared with the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion FuzhengButu acupuncture therapy combined with task-oriented mirror therapy have positive effects on upper limb function recovery of elderly post-stroke hemiplegia patients.
