Effect of Wuqinxi bird exercises combined with traditional Chinese medicine appropriate techniques on gastrointestinal and immune functions of chemotherapy patients with non-small cell lung cancer:Based on syndrome identification
Objective To study the effects of the combination of Wuqinxi bird exercises and traditional Chinese medi-cine(TCM)appropriate techniques based on syndrome identification on the gastrointestinal and immune functions of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)patients undergoing chemotherapy.Methods A total of 100 NSCLC chemotherapy patients were ran-domly divided into control group and study group.All patients received routine intervention,those in study group additionally re-ceived Wuqinxi bird exercises plus TCM appropriate techniques based on syndrome identification.Both groups were intervened for one month,aiming to compare the immune function indicators such as CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+,scores of TCM syndrome,six-minute walking test(6-MWT),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS),and the inci-dence of gastrointestinal reactions between groups.Results After intervention,the levels of CD4+and CD4+/CD8+in the study group were significantly increased(P<0.05),while CD8+levels were significantly decreased(P<0.05).The levels of CD4+,CD8+and CD4+/CD8+in the control group after intervention were significantly decreased(P<0.05).The study group was superior to the control group for the levels of CD4+,CD8+and CD4+/CD8+(all P<0.05).After intervention,the inci-dence of gastrointestinal reactions in the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group(6%[3/50]vs 24%[12/50],P<0.05).The scores of TCM syndromes in the two groups were significantly lower than those before intervention(P<0.05),and the decreases were more pronounced in the study group relative to the control group(P<0.05).After inter-vention,significantly increased 6-MWT score,and significantly decreased scores of SAS and SDS were found in the two groups(all P<0.05),and the study group was superior to the control group for scores of 6-MWT,SAS and SDS(all P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of Wuqinxi bird exercises and TCM appropriate techniques based on syndrome identification can improve the immune function and exercise endurance in NSCLC chemotherapy patients,reduce gastrointestinal reactions,and improve their TCM symptoms and psychological status.It is worthy of clinical promotion.
