Clinical study of auricular point sticking combined with medicine-separated moxibustion on postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal function in laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis
Objective To study the clinical effect of auricular point sticking combined with medicine-separated moxi-bustion on postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal function in laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis. Methods To-tally 100 patients undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis were included. They were randomly divided into an observation group(n=50)and a control group(n=50).All patients received routine intervention, while those in the obser-vation group additionally received auricular point sticking combined with medicine-separated moxibustion.A 1-week interven-tion was performed. The clinical efficacy was assessed, the score of gastrointestinal function, the levels of inflammatory factors, motilin and gastrin, and the score of visual analogue scale(VAS)for pain before and after intervention were included as compa-rators between the two groups. Results The effective rate of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(96.00%[48/50]vs 80.00%[40/50],P<0.05).The scores of gastrointestinal function at12,24,48 hours postoper-atively were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α),interleukin 6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP)in groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05),which decreased notably in the observation group compared with the control group(P<0.05).The the levels of motilin and gastrin in groups were significantly increased(P<0.05),the increase in the observation group was more common than the control group(P<0.05).VAS scores at 12,24,48 hours post-operatively were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients undergo-ing laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis, auricular point sticking combined with medicine-separated moxibustion based on the midnight-noon ebb-flow theory can promote gas-trointestinal function recovery, and reduce inflammatory response and pain levels.
